從來不會想到"無比幸福"的狀態可以說成on cloud nine。cloud nine，"9號雲"，怎麼和"狂喜、高興"聯絡起來的呢?這背後可有一個很有趣的小故事。

據說，cloud nine是美國氣象服務中的.一個術語。在氣象服務中，各種不同的雲系都有各自的數字代號，如，1號雲系、2號雲系。那麼9號雲系是哪種雲呢?9號雲系是一種叫做"積雨雲" 的特定代號。而"積雨雲"的位置最高，因此，cloud nine就成了"處在世界頂峰"的形象代名詞，用來形容一種"情緒高漲"的狀態，和現在十分流行的"high"差不多。
